HISTORIC GARDNER’S BASIN BRINGS THE CHARM OF AN ARTISTS VILLAGE TO THE WATERFRONT
Shop by the Sea

Atlantic City, New Jersey, July 1---Whether traveling by boat or car  you can now visit the aquarium, cruise the water, dine at the restaurants, and shop by the sea. Historic Gardner’s Basin, home of the Atlantic City Aquarium, announces the opening  of “The Crafters at Gardner’s Basin” which takes the concept of  a working village of artists to this unique waterfront locale. More than just shopping, visitors can experience the creative process as they stroll along the water watching artists working in their studios and enjoy the excitement of purchasing one-of-a-kind hand-made items. The Atlantic City Historic Waterfront Foundation, which operates the Atlantic City Aquarium and Historic Gardner’s Basin has spared nothing in opening this quaint village where artists work side-by-side in charming cottages situated along the beautiful waterfront of Absecon Inlet. The window-boxed cottages each have a distinctive look. All have cupolas and a cozy front porch, but are as diverse in their color palette as the artists who inhabit them.  The village— while surrounded by seagulls and sailboats—is neighbored by an antique shop, three restaurants, and boats available for charter or sunset cruises.  Pedestrians can stroll along the marina and watch each artist at work.  The open barn doors invite visitors in to take a closer look. Once inside, shoppers can choose to purchase anything from garden art to wearable art, as they savor the salt air and enjoy the view.
