First Floor
  1. Fish of the Mid-Atlantic Ocean
    This 25,000 - gallon tank is filled with many animals that make New Jersey waters their home. These include Nurse Sharks, Sea Bass, Stripers, Flounder, Tautog, LookDowns and Black Drums. Don't forget about Groman our very own Loggerhead Turtle.

  2. Fish of the Indo-Pacific
    1,500 - gallon tank filled with reef denizens from the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Here you will find Yellow Tangs, Convict Tangs, Damselfish, Wrasse and even a Pufferfish.

  3. Coral Reef
    A constantly growing exhibit. See the different types of coral including Staghorn, Leather, Velvet, Plate, Bubble, and Mushroom Coral. In the center of the tank lives a Giant Clam

  4. Moray Eels
    The largest in the tank is just over 4 feet long and weights in at 50 pounds.

  5. Touch Tank
    This 750 gallon tank has all sorts of local marine invertebrates that children of all ages can touch with the supervision of an instructor.

  6. Sea Horse Habitat
    This 300 - gallon tank is home to much more than just curious Sea Horses. They share their home with Pipefish, Sea Stars, Sea Cucumbers and much more.

  7. Moon Jellyfish
    These Sea Jellies have flattened, transparent bells bearing four horseshoe-shaped gonads.

  8. Octavia the Octopus
    Octavia our common octopus. she can change color to hide from predators and uses jet propulsion to swim.

  9. Exhibit Room
    This room displays a variety of changing exhibits from all over the country.

  10. Gift Shop
    A selection of gifts to take home and remind you of your visit to the Atlantic City Aquarium at Gardner's Basin. Individual and family memberships also available here.

  11. Ocean Oddities
    Our newest First Floor exhibit, highlighting a number of unusual sea creatures, from thumb-splitting Mantis Shrimp to deadly and well-named Stonefish.
